Ghana Home Loans, the leading residential mortgage provider in Ghana as part of it’s corporate social responsibility has paid for the open heart surgery of six (6) year old, Eliel Siaw through the Children’s Heart Foundation Ghana.
This gesture falls in line with the company’s core values of “People, Innovation and Excellence” thereby supporting others mostly in the health and educational sectors. Ghana Home Loans has a long standing relationship with the Children’s Heart Foundation, supporting the organization annually to fund children with various heart conditions.
Speaking at the brief ceremony, Mrs. Sylvia Adadey Business Development Manager and a member of the Ghana Home Loans Corporate Social Responsibility Committee stated that “the company was committed to building a nation of homeowners and as such providing for the wellbeing of children who are our future nation builders was certainly a step in the right direction”.
Mrs Karen Hendrickson a top official of the Ghana Heart Foundation commended Ghana Home Loans for heeding to the call of the Ghana Heart Foundation and invited more corporate institutions to contribute to fundraising efforts. She further pleaded that individuals and groups come to the aid of this Ghanaian families who find themselves in the very stressful and difficult position of trying to save the life of their child diagnosed with a congenital heart condition.
The six year old girl who suffers from sinus venous atrial septal defect has been on the waiting list of the Childrens Heart Foundation for years to undergo surgery to correct the defect. The mother of little Eliel expressed her profound gratitude to Ghana Home Loans for coming to the aid of her daughter and giving her a chance to live a normal and healthy life. She also pleaded with other organisations to come to the aid of other children in similar situations.
